BIO

Straight from Topeka, Kansas comes the Grammy Considered Artist named Slick!  Being raised in a single parent household, Ricky Spivey dropped out of high school at 16 yrs. old which led him to the life of gang banging by the age of 22.  As a result of gang violence and a near fatal car accident, He realized he needed to escape the streets through the only way he new how, his music.  He started Tornado Alley Ent.

His first debut album, which had 6 songs produced by Missouri’s Superstar Producer Don Juan (producer of Tech N9ne, Yukmouth, E-40, and Nate Dogg), was entitled “Spark 2 Da Flame”.  The heavy anticipation of his first album was delayed due to Slick being shot right outside of his house during the first week of the release.  With the possibility of losing his leg, Slick was set back about 2 years until he was able to walk again.

During that recovery stage, he started working on his sophomore album “Uncooked AKA Raw”.  After the 2 years have passed and Slick was able to walk again, he immediately hit the streets to let the stores know he is prepping the 2nd album.  Slick immediately collabed with 4x Platinum Rapper Juvenile’s group UTP’s Wacko & Skip on a track called “Address It”.

This lead to Slick being introduced to hip-hop heavyweight Rob Schwartz of WHOMAG Multimedia who instantly gave him a distribution deal through WHOMAG/Sony Orchard.   His video “Show You How” was featured on WHO?MAG TV on broadcast and satellite worldwide as well as on Vevo, Zune, and many other outlets.

He was then introduced to Grammy Nominated producer Mr. Mig (aka H3DRush) who did a hot remix for his brand new single “Get Loose”.  This song also garnished him a Grammy Consideration under “Best Rap Performance”.

The feedback on the song has been immense from the mixtape DJs.  Slick has been determined to put Topeka on the map and make Kansas part of the hip-hop legacy.
